For a number of years, acclaimed guitarist and Kiesel Guitars artist Allan Holdsworth had challenged the Custom Shop to develop a headless guitar, as he wanted the improved tone and playability of his Holdsworth H2 and HF2 signature guitars, but in a more compact version. The USA Custom Shop is excited to respond to his request with the new Allan Holdsworth Signature HH2 headless guitar. Although headless guitars have been around since the 1980s, the HH2 is much more than just another version of the design. Kiesel Guitars has engineered this guitar from the ground up, with the specific goal of meeting Allan's exacting demands for sound, playability and weight. Months of design and prototyping, along with real world "on the road" testing by Allan have resulted in the best USA-made headless guitar available today. And unlike the
original Steinberger™ guitars and similar models of the 1980s, the HH2 is constructed from wood, not composites, so it sounds like a guitar should. The HH2 is made in the USA, and loaded with features, along with having our full compliment of Custom Shop options available. It's boutique instrument,
without the boutique price, because Kiesel Guitars eliminates the middleman markup by selling directly to you. You can build your Holdsworth HH2 exactly the way you want it, and be the proud owner of an instrument that will last you a lifetime.
In late 2016, the Custom Shop significantly upgraded the HH2, replacing the JCustom bridge/tremolo with a Hipshot™ bridge or optional Hipshot™/Kiesel Tremolo System and new Kiesel headpiece and Graphtech nut. Additionally, the body was changed to a conventional solid-body design (versus the original chambered body design) with chambering optional.
The only way to appreciate the performance of a Kiesel Guitars instrument is to use it in your own environment, giving it the test of "real
world" performance. Take 10 days to try out your Allan Holdsworth Signature HH2 Headless Guitar. If you're not completely satisfied, you can return it - no questions asked. Your trial period starts when the merchandise is received by you, not when it's shipped. Really give it a workout. If you're not satisfied for any reason, send it back for a prompt refund or exchange - you would only be responsible for the return
shipping. (US and Canada customers only; international customers, see here)
The HH2 is built at the Kiesel Guitars Custom Shop in Escondido, California.
