The standard walnut neck has a 3 X 3 pointed headstock with a Kiesel drop shadow black logo and Neil Zaza truss rod cover, and is painted to match the body finish. The neck has a standard thinner neck profile than the Aries neck, for faster playing throughout the fingerboard. All of our necks and fingerboards undergo a long conditioning process in our de-humidification chambers to remove any stress in the wood and prevent future warping or twisting. The dual-action, fully adjustable truss rod helps keep the neck straight and true, and allows you to set the action just the way you like it. Dual carbon-fiber rods further strengthen the neck. The NZ6H neck has 4 ferrules with bolts, versus the conventional neckplate, which creates a solid joint, reduces the size of the heel, and shaves a small amount of weight off the instrument.
The NZ6H has a standard 24-fret, 25.5" scale black ebony fingerboard with mother-of-pearl block inlays, a 14" radius and 24 jumbo nickel-silver frets. The "Rapid Play" low action neck assures effortless playability throughout the entire fingerboard, while the easy access sculpted neck heel allows easy access all the way up to the 24th fret.
The NZ6H comes equipped with a direct-mount passive Kiesel Lithium K12B humbucker in the bridge position, and a direct-mount passive Kiesel Lithium K12N pickup in the neck position. All Kiesel pickups are custom wound with vintage plain enamel wire that brings out the harmonically rich tone and sustain of the guitar. Electronics consist of a master volume control, and a 3-way pickup selector. Standard pickups have black and white coils.
Kiesel Guitars also offers the Neil Zaza NZ624, which is Neil's signature carved-top model. The Aries A6 is similar to the NZ6H, but without Neil's signature touches.
