The defined upper horns, elongated sharp points, and deeply offset body lend the Antares an extreme appearance. Yet, as with any Kiesel instrument, it can be tailored for a wide range of tastes and aesthetics — both drastic and fine touches adorn the model with customizable features.

Fret Count Options

The Antares is available in two fret counts. A 24-fret count is standard, while a 27-fret count — seen only on this model across the entire Kiesel lineup — extends your reach into the upper register.

Cavity Counterweight

To offset any possible neck dive, an optional ~1 lb removable brass counterweight is inserted into the electronics cavity — eliminating the need for an extra cover on the rear of the body.

Four Bridge Options

Four different bridge types appeal to a wide range of players: the EverTune, Floyd Rose, Kiesel-Hipshot Trem, and the Hipshot Fixed bridge — each dialed for its own playing style.

Counter-Sunk Flush-Mount Jack

The flush-mount jack complements the sleek aesthetics while enhancing the jack’s stability and reliability. It is counter-sunk to accommodate the aggressive body shape.

Extended Scale Length

The 6-string scale is standard at 25.5", extendable to 26.5". The 7-string is similar — standard at 25.5" with the option of 27" — for tighter low-end response in extended tunings. 6, 7, and 8 string also available in multiscale.

Rear Strap Buttons

Similar to Kyber and Aero, the top strap button is positioned on the rear of the body for a sleek appearance and optimal balance while standing. The bottom button remains in its traditional position.

Optional Upgrade

Add the counterweight?

Because of the aggressive, extreme nature of the Antares’ shape, players may experience less-than-optimal balance when seated with certain specs. The solid brass, CNC-machined counterweight weighs just under a pound and sits in the electronics cavity. The piece can be removed at the player’s discretion within minutes.
